Building on the legacy of the Faculty of Oenology, the ISVV, established in January 2009, has established itself as a leading centre of excellence in the fields of viticulture and wine, combining research, education and innovation at both national and international levels. Situated at the heart of the Villenave d’Ornon campus, bordered by an 8-hectare vineyard, and housed in a 10,000 m² building, it accommodates over 600 students and brings together scientific teams working in close collaboration with industry stakeholders to address the challenges of tomorrow.

The institute benefits from a network of academic and professional partners, includingINRAE, Bordeaux Sciences AgroCIVB and numerous stakeholders in the wine industry.

Today, the ISVV,a special-status institute of theUniversity of Bordeaux, is continuing to develop by strengthening the links between research, education and the professional world, notably through knowledge transfer and innovation initiatives with the Inno’Vin cluster, and its day-to-day interactions with the socio-economic sector.
